Revisting my blog a year later

I'm back! I haven't used this blog since last summer, but returned to refresh my blogger.com skills in preparation for a conference and also as I prepare to return to teaching after being on sabbatical this year. It's interesting to see that I have had strangers post comments to this blog -- commercials will find their way into the strangest places!
